Bradford District's Big Plan (Sustainable Community Strategy)

For a copy of the Big Plan visit www.bradford.gov.uk/bigplan. The Big Plan is also be available in libraries and Council information points and one-stop shops. From Bradford Council's website:
The Big Plan is the district's Sustainable Community Strategy which all districts must have. It is the overarching plan for the district and sets out long term ambitions, and short term priorities with some indicative actions for how these will be achieved.

It details 3 transformational priorities:

  • Improving Educational attainment
  • Improving skills
  • Regenerating the City and Town Centres

These will be delivered by actions within the following themes:

  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Children and Young People
  • Safer Communities
  • Environment
  • Economy Skills, Housing and Transport
  • Stronger Communities

Cohesion and sustainability are crosscutting issues that are thread throughout the plan and more importantly throughout the delivery actions bringing the plan into reality.

For more information about the Big Plan contact Stan Kidd at Email: stan.kidd@bradford.gov.uk or Tel: 01274 437785

It will be useful to bear in mind what the Council is trying to achieve through the Big Plan when making applications to them for funding or making a tender.
