Help for pre-start and start up social enterprises from Business Link Yorkshire

Advice, workshops, expertise and mentoring are available to pre-start and start up social enterprises (up to three years old).  Intensive support will be provided to social enterprises with "growth potential".

The definition of a social enterprise is "a business with primarily social objectives whose surpluses are reinvested for that purpose rather than being driven by the need to deliver profit to shareholders or owners"

Business Link can "help you start and grow your social enterprise into a sustainable business by generating income through trading or contracting and delivering social impact.  Whilst help from Business Link is available to all pre-start and start up social enterprises (up to three years old) through this programme, intensive support will be provided to social enterprises with growth potential."

This intensive support could be through a Business Development voucher to gain specialist expertise or a mentor to support the social enterprise.
