Introduction

"City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council, Department of Health and Wellbeing will be grant funding innovative projects run by User Led Organisations."

Objectives

"We are making funding available to:

  • Support User Led Organisations
  • Support the Keep it Local agenda
  • Continue to move funding to Early Intervention and Prevention
  • Maintain a vibrant and diverse Voluntary and Community Sector
  • Encourage innovation
  • Have organisations that can support the personalisation agenda"

Definition

"We will use the following definition of User Led Organisations:

  1. Actively demonstrate their commitment to disabled people by employing disabled staff and volunteers.
  2. Actively demonstrate their commitment to the Social Model of Disability.
  3. Are an organisation based on clear values of independence, involvement and peer support.
  4. Are led and controlled by disabled people with a minimum of 50 to 75% of disabled people on the management committee or trustee board.
  5. Are based on peoples direct lived experience."

Timeline

"We will run the grants process in early 2020, with grant agreements from Spring 2020."
