Details from the Give Bradford Campaign (part of Leeds Community Foundation):

The Sir Ken and Lady Morrison fund will support people across Bradford District to improve their literacy.

The funder wants to hear from voluntary and community organisations that are exploring different ways to engage and support young people, families, carers and adults from disadvantaged backgrounds with reading and writing.

Grants of £2,500 to £10,000 will be available to run projects that achieve the following outcomes:

  • Improved literacy of children and young people including care leavers up to the age of 25.
  • Improved literacy of adults from disadvantaged backgrounds.
  • Increase in parents and carers reading with their families.
  • Increased support and encouragement to bring people together to improve their overall literacy.

Applicants must be able to show that they are addressing a specific need in their community.

"If you are thinking of applying for the fund and would like to learn more then please join us for this briefing event. This event will give you an opportunity to meet fund managers, learn more about the fund and criteria and will include a presentation explaining the application process, guidance on the evaluation process, a question and answer session, and will provide guests with an opportunity to network."
