Showing demand

If ‘need’ is the problem to be solved, ‘demand’ shows that you have the right solution.

Demand is about people wanting to take part in your activities.

You may know there is a demand because of:

  • waiting lists
  • requests
  • referrals
  • numbers on previous projects
  • evaluation
  • consultation

Proving demand is another important reason why you should monitor and evaluate your activities, even if they are not funded at the moment.

Even if you can show that there is a need for the project, you still need to show that there is demand for the project because funders want to know that people are interested in taking part - this shows them that the project is likely to succeed.
