Bradford VCS Alliance, Asset Based Community Development grants

9 October 2019

Round four of Asset Based Community Development grants is open for applications. This is the final round of grants from this programme.

Eligible areas for round 4

This funding is for the Bradford City and District clinical commissioning group areas.

"First priority will be given to organisations who have not been successful in previous ABCD applications. Then finally to organisations who may have previously received funding, and have satisfactorily returned evaluation forms."

If you are unsure whether your project will be delivered in the Bradford City and District clinical commissioning group area, please contact the funder for advice, email info@bradfordvcsalliance.org.uk or telephone 01274 306624.

What can be funded?

"Bradford City and Districts clinical commissioning groups have invested non-recurrent funds to support and activate a range of grassroots community activities and ideas which will improve the health and wellbeing of local people."

Small grants of £250 to £1,000 are available for community groups to run their own health and wellbeing project.

Projects should be based on Asset Based Community Development values:

  • Identify and make visible the health enhancing assets in a community.
  • See citizens and communities as the co-producers of health and wellbeing, rather than the recipients of services.
  • Promote community networks, relationships and friendships that can provide caring, mutual help and empowerment.
  • Identify what has the potential to improve health and wellbeing.
  • Support individuals’ health and wellbeing through self-esteem, coping strategies, resilience skills, relationships, friendships, knowledge and personal resources.
  • Empower communities to control their futures and create tangible resources such as services, funds and buildings.

Please read the guidance notes before completing the application form.

The deadline for applications is 25 October 2019 (5pm).
