Daytrippers Foundation grants

29 November 2019

The Daytrippers Foundation wants to "ensure children and young people with disabilities and life-limiting conditions in the UK experience great days out."

Charities, support groups, SEND schools and children’s hospices can apply for funding towards a day trip of their choice, or to support an innovative idea for an event or series of workshops.

Day trips

Day trip grants are available for recreational and educational day trips for groups of children and young people aged five to 25 who have disabilities and life-limiting conditions in the UK.

"Applications can be made for grants towards a trip occurring on a single day. For example, this could be a day out to a wildlife park, the beach or an outdoor activity centre. Each application will be considered on its own merit, and decisions are made on a first come first served basis until funds for that financial year are expended. On occasions where we are not able to award you the full amount requested, we will consider making a contribution."

Apply at any time but at least two weeks before the date of your trip. Grants of up to £30 per child/young person with disabilities are available. Please note, day trip grants are paid retrospectively, after the funder has received your monitoring information.

Events and workshops

Event and workshop grants can fund projects advancing the lives of children and young people with disabilities and life-limiting conditions. Your project should provide positive activities and help develop skills.

"We are particularly interested in projects which are innovative and aim to make a significant difference to the lives of children and young people."

Apply at any time. Decisions will be made within three to four weeks. Average grants are £500 to £3,000.
